Our Eco-System – The Service Performance Center Community

Our members are the most important part of our community. Together with you, selected partners, and the institutes and Centers on the Campus of RWTH Aachen University, they form our broad eco-system. This network lives through the expertise of each individual and also through the open exchange of valuable best practice cases and “how not to” insights. A community in which the size of the company is subordinate, as only the will to cooperate, profound digitalization knowledge, or the will to build this up, and some pioneering spirit matters here.

Our innovation projects – learning with and from each other

In joint projects with leading industrial companies and scientific environments, we develop solutions for a successful digital business in the manufacturing industry. In our projects, industry best practices are identified, analyzed and transferred into applicable solutions for the participating industry partners. An additional benefit of these projects is that we as the initiators of the project, take on the project’s main effort and, for instance, select use cases that are relevant to the topic. We present these to the consortium, consisting of operational employees from several organizations. Together we evaluate and compare these use cases and thus validate the best practiced business processes. This procedure requires a high degree of mutual trust, as sensitive data is disclosed and process flows are discussed in small groups. Our innovation projects are an instrument of the innovation-creating organizational development. Since the result enables you, on the basis of an action guideline tailored to your needs, to question your own business processes, to reflect on them and to readjust and optimize them, taking into account different perspectives (customers, employees). Take the opportunity and learn more about our upcoming projects, or ask about the results of previous innovation projects, we will gladly support you on your way!

Your recruiting platform – Innovative ideas from young, creative minds

For more than 10 years, in collaboration with the Walter Eversheim Foundation, we have been inviting students at the RWTH Aachen University to develop practical use cases. Through us, companies such as Lufthansa, Telekom, Currenta, as well as Ford and Bosch, have called upon students in the past to work on their use cases and thus gain new impulses for project and organizational development. Each case proved to be a great success, since alongside elaborated, practical solutions, companies gained access to future employees, as during the 3-month project duration, both companies and students gained the opportunity to get to know each other in a practical environment. A win-win situation for all involved.
Innovations developed in this way include: a novel weight measurement system for motor vehicles while driving (Case Competition with GEOTAB), as well as a learning platform for KUKA Robotics, which is used to train customers and service technicians through AR/VR technologies.
